Bison riding...?

I just wanted to mention--I think it is strange how many hits I get on this page based off of people clicking on Google results for searches on "bison riding." Do people actually ride bison for sport and recreation?

The latest such hit occurred early this morning at 4:19 am. The user doing the search was in Muttenz, Switzerland. Perhaps the Swiss view bison riding as a typical American hobby?

Haha, nice.

I always thought the kid on the elephant was sort of dumb. It should have been obvious that the dude on the ostrich was going to win.

Wow, this is one big coincidence. I dreamt that I was riding a bison last night. The dream was so clear and vivid with colour and I remembered every detail, so when I woke up, I went straight online to find references to riding bison and this was the top link.

Looking at anonymous' entry date, I realised that we were looking online around the same time. This makes me wonder if we were dreaming the same dream, at the same time! hmmm....

Actually, yes, I arrived at your blog looking for a place where I could ride a bison. But, in my defense, you called your blog "Riding a Bison"... Tease.

I too arrived from that search, but I can actually confirm that some people do ride bison, having done so about ten years ago. They are reportedly rather difficult to train, though.

Have you seen a recent spike in related hits? An Austin band released a miniseries of mashups called "Guy on a Buffalo" about a month ago. It is going viral. Enjoy for yourselves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ4T9CQA0UM

Wow, this is odd. So I have this crazy vivid dream during which I ride a bison on a ranch, near the beach. I wake up and think to myself, "Wow that seemed really fun. I want to ACTUALLY ride a bison now. I wonder if people actually can ride bison?" So, I hop onto the handy dandy internet only to find a site where other people have also reportedly had dreams about riding bison and then searched online for where to ride them. Apparently this is where the road of all bison dreamers leads to. I feel like I've slipped through some bison dreaming internet wormhole. I need an interpreter. What does it all mean? FYI, I have not yet found a place where I can ride a bison but I will keep searching. I hope this whole things seems just as trippy to anyone else who reads this as it does to me.

I was just doing research on uk drink-riding laws. Apparently you can be totally shitfaced in charge of a bison or camel. But Im facing a £4.80 fine for riding my (also drunk) cow home from the pub?!
